GENDER STEREOTYPES

As in Colombia, the number of gender stereotypes in Spain are originated on television. The most relevant aspects in both countries is the representation of women in advertising. on the other hand, in Colombia the differentiated treatment towards women predominates. While in Spain the body of women is used to sell, in Colombia the woman is shown as a housewife, who only takes care of household chores. The latter is seen in both countries. A studio arrived at a Spanish school and asked the children to draw a fireman, police officer, an engineer and a pilot. from there only five children drew women in these professions. Although, it is an aspect that has evolved sports are other gender stereotypes that exist. In Colombia lately we want to promote women's football, through television campaigns, low-cost tickets and other incentives.Spanish children were asked what exercises they would practice when they were older, most of the boys preferred soccer, while the girls wanted to dance. later, they asked the same children, who would practice if they were the other genre. the common response in children was that "boys/girls practice different things". This shows a thought that separates the capacities of women with that of men and that in both countries male football is more attractive. In men, gender stereotypes are basically the same in both countries. strong, successful men, who work hard or are businessmen.
