HOFSTEDE MODEL

According to Hofstede Model, and taking into account each of the aspects I imagined that the score for Spain is as follows:

-Power Dsitance: This aspect is responsible for evaluating the country from the point of view of inequality. Because Spain is emerging from an economic crisis and its recovery is slow, I give it a high score of 75% .

-Individualism:The higher this aspect, the more individualism there will be among its inhabitants. The Spanish are very faithful to their customs and protectors, I think they are mostly individualists (56%).

-Maculinity: This dimension determines what are the predominant aspects in a society, when the score is high it is considered a male society and is characterized by competition and the search for success. On the other hand, a score under society focuses on caring for others and highlights the importance of quality of life. So I give that score to Spain, since its compotiation I think it leans towards both sides.

-Uncertainty avoidance: This index talks about the way the uncertain future looks and its effect on society. Despite being a society that remains attached to its history and past, they care a lot about their future. so I grant 75%.

-Long term orientation:This aspect speaks of the links with the past in the face of changes in the present and the future. Spain is a very traditional country, even more the image of royalty. therefore I give it a low score (10%).

-Indulgence: This dimension refers to the extent to which people control their desires and impulses given the way they were raised. I give them a high score because I think the Spaniards are people affected by controlling their impulses, enjoying their life and having fun (80%).

Actual values compared to those of Colombia are shown in the following table

-Power Dsitance: Both Colombia and Spain are countries with high levels of social inequality. Due to the current situation of the armed conflict, in Colombia this percentage is shown to a greater extent.

-Individualism:In an individualistic society, people care about taking care of their closest relatives, so Spain can locate there because of its score. On the other hand, Colombia is a collective society, where the idea of belonging to a group and importing the opinions of other people is valued.

-Maculinity:While Colombia is categorized as a masculinity society, Spain is mostly feminist. The masculinity society is more competitive and seeks to stand out, while the feminine one addresses the quality of life

-Uncertainty avoidance: This aspect is related to the way of seeing the future as uncertain and how this affects society. In this dimension both countries obtained a high score, where Spain is six points above Colombia. This indicates that the two societies seek to reduce the uncertainty that exists by not knowing their future.

-Long term orientation:Colombia's low score indicates that it is a society that maintains its traditions and norms and does not openly accept social changes. The Spaniards on the other hand have a slightly higher score, that is to say that although they have an intimate circle with the past, they are more inclined towards saving and preparing for the future.

-Indulgence:Colombia is an indulgent society, its high score indicates that its people show a tendency to realize their desires and impulses. On the other hand, unlike what I thought Spain is a country not as optimistic as Colombia and rather a restrictive society.
